Celebrating our centenary!

Both Malcolm Sargent and the Leicester University’s music department are featured in the University of Leicester’s 100 project, which celebrates 100 years of change, and the beginnings of a university in Leicester.

Thanks to research by Sam Dobson, Leicester Symphony Orchestra now has much more information about the early links between the University’s first music department and the founding of the LSO as we know it, as both the orchestra and the university both move towards the launch of our respective centenary years.
